An article on May 5 2021 reported that a coroner had heavily criticised the Jehovah’s Witnesses for failing to stop an elderly follower killing his wife, after the husband told a church elder of his plans to stab her to death. In fact, the coroner did not find the church or the elder could have prevented the death. He accepted it was reasonable for the elder to have considered the comment made to him by the killer ‘not as being a serious remark
