A drunk driver who was almost five times the alcohol limit has been spared jail after she blamed Covid for turning her to booze.
Receptionist Susan Fagan, 48, was stopped by police earlier this month after a witness saw her speeding on the wrong side of the road before clipping the kerb.
Officers said Fagan, from Wigan, looked 'confused and dazed' in her Mazda and tests showed she had 166 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breathe in a person's system when driving.
