The research, from Oxford University's Pathogen Dynamics Group, revealed four in ten infections are confirmed before there are any physical indicators, while 35 per cent come within the first two days of symptoms.
Conversely, between five and ten days after high temperatures, coughs and loss of senses appear, just two per cent of transmissions are passed on, according to the Telegraph.
