The angry animal breached the fence and ran amok among the fans at the arena in Puruándiro, Michoacán on July 31. Local reports said one woman was crushed underneath the bull while several people were struck by the animal's horns at the event, which went ahead despite local coronavirus restrictions. The bull then brings down the fence and rampages through the seating area as screams of panic fill the arena. Terrified spectators, including women and children, attempt to flee with some jumping into the arena to get away from the bucking animal. One woman, who is trying to control the beast is struck by its horns several times. Despite this, she continues to try to steer the animal away from the spectators. A man in a wheelchair was reported to have had a narrow escape, before support staff were able to corral the animal. They steer it back to the arena where some spectators are still cowering. People looked on in shock as the bull threw off its rider and tried to escape the arena Video of the event has been shared widely on social media. Local officials had granted the rodeo a licence even though such gatherings were banned under coronavirus regulations. A local government investigation has now been launched into the licence was granted. As well as the rodeo, the event featured food, alcohol and several bands playing music popular in the region.
