Scott Morrison thanked Australian soldiers for their service in Afghanistan as the war-torn nation falls to the Taliban.
The Prime Minister has insisted that 41 diggers who died during Australia's longest war were not killed in vain.
'There is no more decent and good purpose than being willing to serve the country that you love.
'It doesn't mean history's currents always run our way. I wish it did. But, sadly, it doesn't,' he said.
