NSW recorded 1288 Covid cases on Thursday and tragically seven deaths from the virus. 

The entire state is currently locked down and police are cracking down on compliance measures as authorities battle to contain the spread of the virulent Delta strain.

The seven deaths recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday include a man in his 50s, two people in their 70s and four people in their 80s. The death toll for the current NSW outbreak is now 107.

There are 957 COVID-19 patients in NSW in hospital, with 160 people in intensive care and 64 ventilated.
