A food delivery worker who braved the fatal record floods that swamped New York City roads got a measly $5 tip after making the hour-long trip from Brooklyn to Astoria.
'It’s a cruel joke. This is exactly why we protest and we organize — we need fair wages. These companies are getting richer and richer and we’re only earning $5 in these conditions,' Toño Solís, a member of the delivery worker labor collective Los Deliveristas Unidos, told The City.
