The son of a well known conspiracy theorist and ex-nurse, who was struck off for claiming Covid is made up, has said he cannot forgive her after a friend his mother used to drive to school died from Covid complications. Kate Shemirani - whose real name is Kay - has been a vocal anti-vaxxer throughout the pandemic, promoting conspiracy theories at protests. Her son Sebastian, 21, - studying philosophy and politics at uni - has been left dismayed at his mother's antics and has taken to social media and radio shows to provide counter arguments to her claims. Sebastian learned this week that one of his beloved childhood friends died from coronavirus - which has taken over 133,000 lives in the UK and more than 4.5 million worldwide. Sebastian tweeted: 'Today I learned that a childhood friend of mine, who my mum used to drive to school with me, has died of Covid complications while working as a junior doctor. 'She was one of the smartest and loveliest girls I ever knew. And my mum was campaigning to put her at risk. So angry.' Sebastian Shemirani, the son of a well-known conspiracy theorist and ex-nurse Kate Shemirani (pictured), who was struck off for claiming Covid is made up, has lambasted her after a friend died from Covid complications Sebastian, 21, (pictured) has been left dismayed at his mother's antics and has taken to social media and radio shows to provide counter arguments to her claims He then urged his followers to ignore his mother Kate by explaining further: 'My mum is a conspiracy theorist who believes Covid is made up by the 'global elite' and the vaccine will kill us all. 'As such she rejects all forms of social distancing and recommends we all act like Covid doesn't exist. I'd like us to act like she doesn't exist.' He added: 'I'm used to dealing with a decent amount of anger but this is beyond me. F****** raging.' He kept followers updated of the conversation he had with his mother after passing on the news and said she is still in denial and blames the vaccine for their friend's death. He wrote: 'Update: I told my mum the news. She blames the vaccine, even though my friend died before the vaccine was rolled out.' When one Twitter user suggested he forgive his mother, he replied frankly: 'No, this isn't a case where forgiveness applies. 'Her role as a mother has long passed. Who knows how many people have died because of my mum's lies? 'To forgive her is up to God, to fight her in this life is up to us.' Sebastian took to Twitter after learning this week that one of his beloved childhood friends had died from coronavirus Heartbreakingly, he also blamed himself for his mother's behaviour and wrote of his regret at not challenging his mother. He commented: 'I can't help thinking if I'd have argued harder/earlier then her impact would've been smaller. Feeling some kind of survivor guilt right now.' Other Twitter users were full of kind and comforting words and praise for Sebastian's heart-felt honesty. One person, Tom Scott commented: 'This is one of the best accounts of conspiratorial thinking and how to address it that I've seen. Thanks so much for sharing these insights.' Another tweeted: 'You are an incredibly strong and intelligent person. Very few people have the brains or emotional intelligence to de-program themselves the way you did. Good luck in the future. You deserve it.' One more commented: 'You have led an amazing counter-campaign, for which most people are very grateful. A big thank you.' Pictured: Kate Shemirani with Piers Corbyn, brother of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn Kate Shemirani in Parliament Square on July 19 - she wore a nurse's uniform despite being struck off a month earlier Kate, 54, was struck off the nurses register in June after a panel described her behaviour as having fallen 'seriously short of the standards expected of a registered nurse and amounted to misconduct'. Other reasons including her 'derogatory' comments towards other healthcare professionals, describing nurses as 'complicit in genocide' and 'criminals and liars' after comparing them to Nazis. She has regularly attended anti-vaccination protests alongside other conspiracy theorists such as Piers Corbyn and David Icke. In July, she was widely condemned for comparing vaccines and NHS staff to the Holocaust, something which Piers Corbyn was arrested for after he distributed flyers comparing jabs to Auschwitz. Previously, she has said that vaccines cause infertility and that it is 5G, and not the virus that causes Covid symptoms. She has also stated that despite being struck off as a nurse, she intends on continuing to wear her work outfit at protests. Shamed anti-vaxxer nurse whose own son has abandoned her and claims that NHS colleagues who got her struck off were overweight and jealous Mother-of-four Kate Shemirani, a former nurse of 35 years, is adamant coronavirus is a hoax and claimed its symptoms are linked to the roll-out of 5G. She has argued the vaccine is a political tool to gain access to and change people's DNA, has likened lockdown to the Holocaust and insisted dancing NHS nurses will 'stand trial for genocide'. Mother-of-four Kate Shemirani, a former nurse of 35 years, is adamant coronavirus is a hoax and claimed its symptoms are linked to the roll-out of 5G She wrote: 'Murder. Genocide. The NHS is the new Auschwitz.' She is a headliner at anti-lockdown rallies, having joined conspiracy theorists David Icke and Piers Corbyn at a protest in August. She directed yobs to confront riot police whom she branded 'dirty dogs' and mocked for wearing face masks at a rally in September. Her son Sebastian, 21, said he is concerned about the impact his mother's claims could have on public health and branded her 'dangerous' and an 'attention-seeker'. Mrs Shemirani, who qualified as a nurse 35 years ago, is being investigated by police for saying medics were like Nazi doctors complicit in genocide and should face 'Nuremberg trials'. She also said vaccination teams should be renamed 'death squads' and referred to the NHS as the 'new Auschwitz' during a rally with Piers Corbyn in July. Boris Johnson condemned her comments, having previously called anti-vaxxers 'nuts', with his official spokesman saying: 'Doctors and nurses have done a heroic job throughout this pandemic and continue to do so. 'Any violence, threats or intimidation… is completely unacceptable', adding that if she has committed any crimes that is a 'matter for the police'. She was also removed from social media and struck off by the Nursing and Midwifery Council for spreading misinformation, claiming that symptoms of Covid-19 were caused by 5G and that vaccines were 'rushed through' because 'they want to kill you'. Miss Shemirani said nurses who made accusations against her did so because they were overweight and jealous. She added: 'We all know what women can be like.' She has reportedly resigned as a registered nurse. Advertisement All rights reserved for this news site (dailymail) and under his responsibility
