Former President Donald Trump endorsed Michigan state Rep. Steve Carra on Tuesday over incumbent GOP Rep. Fred Upton - a so-called 'RINO' who voted in favor of impeachment.
'Upton has not done the job that our Country needs, for years has talked about leaving office and not running again, and he voted for Impeachment of the President of the United States on rigged up charges,' Trump said in a statement. 'He doesn’t deserve to keep his seat.'
Trump is putting his weight behind a one-term state House member who introduced legislation to audit Michigan's 2020 election in June.
The ex-president has been supportive of election audits as he continues to falsely claim that widespread fraud caused him to lose the race to Democratic President Joe Biden.
