Kate Quigley's mom says comedian is only lucid for moments at a time

Comedian Kate Quigley's mother has issued an update on her condition after she was hospitalized in a reported accidental overdose of fentanyl-laced cocaine that killed three people at an LA house party. 

'Kate is stable. She still isn’t lucid for more than a moment at a time,' Quigley's mother Fran Wyles wrote in a Facebook post following the comedian's hospitalization on Saturday.

'We are optimistic that she will recover,' the mother added, warning that 'it won’t be quick.' 

Wyles said that her 39-year-old daughter was unable to make online posts, and Quigley's popular Twitter account has remained silent since she was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital.

Killed in the suspected mass overdose were comedian Fuquan Johnson, 42, comedian Enrico Colangeli (Rico Angeli), 48, and Natalie Williamson, 33, who was a personal friend of Quigley's.    

Quigley's friend Brian Redban first confirmed that she survived, sharing a screenshot of a text from her on Sunday that read: 'I'm alive. Not great. But im OK.' 

It was a reply to Redban's worried message, which saw him ask her 'Text me you're okay,' following Friday night's deadly drugs incident. He captioned his Instagram screenshot of Quigley's text: 'I have had a bad month...and this has ruined me.. hug everyone you love.' 

Redban is a comedian best known for producing the Joe Rogan Experience. 

Meanwhile, friends and family are mourning the three lives cut short by the fatal drugs.  

Colangeli's cousin, Maria Spencer, spoke with The Sun to share the 'true heartbreak' of his death.

'Enrico (Ricky) was incredibly loved by his entire family, and we'll miss him more than words can describe,' she said. Spencer remembered her cousin as 'not only a smart, talented comedian' but 'a highly skilled carpenter who worked for his family's construction company.'

'Losing Ricky is a true heartbreak and is a devastating loss for his siblings, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who have many fond memories of family Sunday dinners, amazing Christmas Eve meals, and other family celebrations that can only be remembered as epic,' she added speaking on behalf of Colangeli's family.

'We loved Ricky dearly and his death is leaving a hole in our hearts that is somewhat comforted by knowing he is now at peace in the arms of his loving parents, Lynda and Rico, who we lost in 2019.'

Colangeli and Johnson were honored in an Instagram tribute posted by the Ha Ha Club on Sunday honoring the 'two HaHa Family Members' captioned 'Make Everyone Laugh In Heaven.'  

Colangeli, Johnson, and Williamson were found dead at a party in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles early Saturday morning. Quigley was allegedly found unresponsive. 

Emergency services were called to an address adjacent to a building Quigley is known to have lived in, TMZ reported, although the owner of the property where the tragedy took place has not been identified.  

Quigley, who once dated Hootie & The Blowfish lead singer Darius Rucker, has appeared in several television shows including The Office, Star Trek: Hidden Frontier, and Guber.   

A representative of Rucker's confirmed to the publication that he was no longer dating Quigley.

They were reportedly going out for much of 2020, but are no longer in an intimate relationship.

Johnson was a frequent performer on the Los Angeles comedy circuit, performing at various clubs around town for the last 10 years.

Police were called to the party just after midnight and pronounced Johnson and the two others, who may have also been comedians, dead at the scene. 

Investigators believe all four people ingested cocaine laced with fentanyl, a synthetic opioid similar to morphine that is 50 times more potent than heroin.

Autopsies are being performed on the three victims, which are currently at the Los Angeles Coroner's Office.

Johnson and Quigley are known to have been friends, and have been photographed together over the last few years.

At this point, it's unclear who supplied the drugs, and whether other people at the party also consumed the laced cocaine.

While LAPD is investigating, law enforcement sources told TMZ that the department's homicide unit have not been notified about this particular case.  

News of Johnson's death shocked his fans on Twitter.

'Fuquan Johnson 4L (for life),' tweeted Brian Moses. He added emojis showing a crown, a heart, and a sad emoji face.

Nick Alexander, a comedian, tweeted: 'What can I say about @Mybadfuu.

'You loved and lived lie on ya own terms. Never gave a damn what people thought about you cuz you were solid within yaself and a real Jerzey n***a.

'We gonna miss you Fu.

'Rest in Power Fuquan Johnson.

'Hit em with Fu Facts in the afterlife!!'

Luke Barnett, a writer and producer, tweeted: 'Very sad to hear about the passing of my buddy Fuquan Johnson.

'Smiliest, happiest dude, and a local icon in the North Hollywood community, RIP.'

Barnett also tweeted a photo showing a shot glass of liquor that was served with a napkin at Nobar in North Hollywood. Johnson's name was written on the napkin in tribute.

Johnny Taylor Jr, a stand-up comedian, tweeted: 'Hey everybody, please stop doing cocaine. Please.
