Anita McCarthy and her new husband Dom jumped off the rocky edge at the Forty Foot swimming spot in Sandycove, Dublin, on September 5, the day after their wedding. Locals watched on in amazement as the newlyweds made their way up the rocky water's edge to take the plunge. She said: 'This was the day after our wedding, we took the plunge to celebrate.' As the pair make their way along the water's edge, wearing a wedding dress and a suit, they are stopped for a quick chat by two women who are smiling widely at them. People watching on can be heard cheering as as the pair walked alongside the water. Onlookers watched on and cheered as they made their way up and people stopped them to chat Anita posted the heartwarming clip on social media, much to the delight of her followers Several youngsters get out of the water to make space for the couple and make sure their jump goes off without a hitch. The loved-up couple look at each other before they jump off in unison. The swimming spot featured in a news package for RTÉ News last May, as people in Ireland were allowed to return to outdoor swimming areas. O'Flynn, who won the city's Liffey Swim river race in 2018, interviewed bathers at the seaside in sweltering temperatures as they were filmed 'letting that cooped up feeling float away'. RTÉ presenter and reporter Paul O'Flynn dived off the rocks at the Forty Foot in Dublin He took the local authority's 'Swim and go' policy literally last May as he dived off the rocks, signing off his report with 'Paul O'Flynn, RTE News, glad to be out of my sitting room' During the comical news package, a council official explained the social distancing rules and the 'swim and go' policy in place at the time, before the camera pans to Mr O'Flynn standing on the rocks in his swimming trunks. Mr O'Flynn says: 'With the weather like this and the lockdown lifted, there's really only one thing for it. The message "Swim and go".' He then dives into the water before signing off the television package with 'Paul O'Flynn, RTE News, glad to be out of my sitting room'.
