'She thought I was crazy, she told NBC4. 'She paused for a long minute. 'I said, 'Ma'am, I am not drinking. I have not had any drugs. I have zebras in my backyard walking on the train tracks.' 'I just wanted to know what service could come out because I didn't want them to get hit,' she said. Animal Control has set up a feeding station to attract the zebras so they can be confined and relocated. The dazzle of six zebras has been on the loose for days. On August 31, police received a call after a zebra ran in front of a car in Croom Road. Chief Rodney Taylor, with Prince George's County, asked residents of the area to call the animal service division if they saw zebras, and to stay away from them. 'The zebras are not in danger and they are not a danger to people, but we advise people not to approach them or feed them,' Chief Taylor said. Although zebras are not a threat to humans, he said they might kick the way horses do if they sense danger. Zebras can owned legally in Maryland. Animal Service is actively trying to return the zebras to the private farm they escaped from. Chief Rodney said residents of the area who spot the zebras can call the Animal Service Division of Prince George's County at 301-780-7242.
