Police last night launched a murder investigation following the death of a 'much-loved' grandfather who was attacked outside his home.
Retired serviceman Frank Fishwick, 86, died in hospital on Saturday less than 24-hours after suffering a fractured nose in an incident outside his home in Preston.
A 19-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of his murder.
Today police investigating Mr Fishwick's death have released a picture and a family tribute of the pensioner, who served in the Army Royal Core of Engineers - commonly known as the Sappers.
In a statement his family said: '(Frank was an) adored father and grandfather who will be
