A California lawyer and Bible studies teacher was blasted for blaming sex addiction as he was jailed for 40 years for molesting six girls, the youngest of whom was just five.
Convicted child molester Steven Matlak, 44, apologized to the victim's families in court on Monday, and sparked fury after blaming his crimes on a compulsion to have sex.
'I took advantage of the trust you had in me and manipulated and abused it in the worse way, I am so sorry for what I have done to you and your families,' Matlak said to the families of his victims.
'You were friendly and kind to me and I repaid it by stabbing you in the back.'
However, parents of the girls blasted Matlak for his 'sex addiction' explanation, calling him nothing more than 'a gross old man' and a pedophile.
