Biden was in the Golden State to campaign for Governor Gavin Newsom's successful bid to keep his seat in Tuesday's recall election. White House reporters who accompanied the president on his trip were surprised to see the actor who smashed a Ferrari in 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' behind the wheel. Ruck played Bueller's best friend in the 1986 film, where he drove Matthew Broderick's character around Chicago in his dad's classic car before it plunged into a ravine. He also stars as media tycoon Logan Roy's oldest son Connor Roy in the HBO mega-hit series 'Succession.' But on Monday the actor garnered rave reviews for his role as a chauffer. 'Alan Ruck handled his driving of press van 1 in the Biden motorcade very capably,' Reuters reporter Steve Holland tweeted on Tuesday along with a photo of a smiling Ruck behind the wheel.
