A Porsche driver who filmed dying police officers after a horror crash in Melbourne last year is back behind bars accused of assaulting police.

Richard Pusey will appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday.

It's understood he's facing charges including assaulting police and stalking after a disturbance at his Fitzroy home on Wednesday 4.15am.

Pusey was released from jail last month after serving a sentence for crimes including outraging public decency over his actions in the wake of the April 2020 crash that killed four police officers.

He was also sentenced to time in prison on separate charges over an incident in December last year.

Pusey is expected to make an application for bail.

He walked free from jail last month donning sunglasses and a mask that read 'fake news' and a T-shirt that said: 'Get me Oprah'.

Speaking through his barrister Carmen Randazzo, Pusey took a swipe at his treatment by the media since his disgraceful filming of dead and dying police on the Monash Freeway made headlines across the nation.
