A teenage boy is fighting for his life after falling nine metres from an apartment balcony on the Gold Coast.
Queensland paramedics were called to Orchid Avenue on the glitter strip before 12.45am on Thursday after the 16-year-old boy reportedly fell nine metres backwards off a balcony railing he was sitting on.
QAS officer Justin Payne said the incident happened around 45 minutes before the ambulance was called.
