A new website is helping scores of residents across NSW and Victoria pinpoint where they can catch up over a picnic without breaking any Covid restrictions.
Self-confessed picnic enthusiasts and Sydney residents Stella Blake-Kelly, Ken Tsang and Vanessa Brewster created the website Friendship Island in order to help navigate the new 'picnic rules' dotting Australia's locked-down eastern states - and it is receiving rave reviews.
Online users simply drop multiple pins on the site for nearby friends after searching for an address, allowing them to then figure out the perfect place to catch over a glass of wine, a cheeky beer and good conversation.
The maps for both states were created using OpenStreetMap data and include important details ahead of locking in picnic locations, notably nearby
