A Georgia women is wanted by police after she threw a puppy into the ocean leaving it with such severe injuries it had to euthanized. 

Candy Selena Marban, from Gainesville, has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.

Police in Tybee Island responded to the area of South Beach after a 911 call around 3pm on September 12 claiming there were 'people throwing a puppy into the ocean.'

When they arrived at the beach, they found the puppy curled up in the sand, said Tybee's Police Public Information Officer Emory Randolph.

Marban was questioned and given a city ordinance citation for cruelty to animals.

She reportedly told officers that the dog had been injured a week prior but she did not have any money for medical treatment and decided to throw it into the ocean instead.
