Best & Less will refuse entry to unvaccinated shoppers in NSW stores from next month. 

The retail giant told staff about the policy, which will come into effect from October 18, in an email which has since been leaked on Facebook. 

In the memo, head of retail operations Joseph van Dyk said 'customers will need to be fully vaccinated to shop in our stores' and NSW staff 'will be required to be fully vaccinated as well'.

The announcement to staff - known internally as 'Besties' - comes as the company prepares to reopen NSW stores as the government eases Covid restrictions once vaccination targets are hit.

'We will be open from the Monday following the date when at least 70 per cent of people over 16 in NSW will be fully vaccinated,' Mr van Dyke wrote.

'At this stage, the government has indicated that this is likely to be on Monday, October 18, although this date could be earlier based on current vaccination rates.

'Customers will need to be fully vaccinated to shop in our stores.

Mr van Dyke said the vaccination policy would also apply to members of staff.
