California Democratic Rep. Karen Bass officially confirmed she is running for mayor of Los Angeles, joining a stream of lawmakers who have decided to seek employment outside of Congress after 2022.
Bass, 67, who had been on President Joe Biden's short-list of potential running mates in 2020, highlighted the spike in homelessness in her announcement.
