A driver who knocked down and killed a teenage cyclist then fled to go on a date could face a charge of gross negligence manslaughter after a coroner halted the inquest.

Dylan Crossey, 15, suffered fatal injuries and died after being knocked off his bike by a BMW in Whitestake, Lancashire, on October 7 2016.

David Harwood, of Longton, was charged with causing death by dangerous or careless driving, but in 2018 the trial collapsed and Harwood walked free from court after being found not guilty.
