A teenage boy has been charged with murder after a man was seriously assaulted in a petrol station.
Thomas Mallaby, 40, was seriously injured at a service station in the village of Annfield Plain, near Stanley, County Durham, in the early hours of Sunday.
He died two days later in Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary and police have now charged a 15-year-old with murder.
Police insist the death was 'not connected in any way' to the current nationwide problems over fuel deliveries.
