Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, a Democratic holdout against President Biden's $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation plan and former Green Party member, reportedly wants to cut $100 billion in climate proposals in the spending bill making its way through Congress.
Sinema, along with fellow moderate Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin, have forced Democrats to go back to the drawing board on their $3.5 trillion agenda as they try to whittle it down to just $2 trillion.
The spending bill comes after the Senate already passed a $1.1 trillion infrastructure plan.
Two sources familiar with the matter told the New York Times that the Arizona Democrat wants to make the $100 billion cut.
