Emergency crews raced to the scene at Westbridge Road in Battersea this evening following reports of the huge blaze. Around 70 firefighters and 10 engines are now at the scene. Crews say the fire is confined to three-bedroom flat, with almost 80 per cent of the property on fire. Station Commander Pete Johnson, who is at the scene, said: 'Crews were faced with a lot of smoke issuing from the top of a block of flats on arrival. 'There was also lots of visible flame which has prompted a high number of calls to our Control Officers. Emergency crews raced to the scene at Westbridge Road in Battersea this evening following reports of the huge blaze 'Firefighters are working hard to bring the fire under control.
