A woman who was screaming 'Defund the police' and swinging a baseball bat outside the Capitol on Friday has been arrested, photos from the scuffle show.

She was detained by law enforcement while climate protesters swarmed the White House on the final day of a week-long program of anti-fossil fuel demonstrations.

The woman, identified as Olivia Romano, 25, 'appeared agitated' at around 9:30 a.m. when police approached her.

'The woman, who was not cooperative, started yelling at our officers,' Capitol police told DailyMail.com.

Romano apparently bit one a Capitol cop as they tried to take the bat from her.

The statement from Capitol police describes her attacking officers.

'When she raised the bat, the officers attempted to take it. In that moment, the woman became combative and bit one of the officers,' law enforcement said.

Police told DailyMail.com that 78 people were arrested today for 'crowding, obstructing or incommoding.'

Three of those people are also being charged with assaulting a police officer.

Photos taken on Friday show Romano lying on the ground looking dazed as officers pin her down and forcibly restrain her on the west side of the Capitol.

Another photo shows her being taken away in a stretcher with her arms behind her back and a plastic hood on her head.

She was arrested on the last day of demonstrations called People vs. Fossil Fuels.

Hundreds of protesters descended on the streets of DC this week demanding that President Biden halt all future fossil fuel projects and declares a national climate emergency just weeks before the United Nations' scheduled climate summit.

The five-day event was organized by a coalition of environmental, indigenous and civil rights groups known as Build Back Fossil Free.
