A shocking photo has emerged of a blood-stained wall inside a trendy pub where a young woman was allegedly sexually assaulted.

Investigations are continuing into the alleged assault of a woman, 20, in a female toilet at the Golden Sheaf hotel in Sydney's eastern suburbs last Wednesday.

The incident allegedly occurred just three days after the popular Double Bay pub reopened after almost four months of lockdown

A man was later arrested and questioned by police before being released without charge, pending further inquiries.

2GB breakfast presenter Ben Fordham was sent an image of what appears to be bloody handprints smeared on the walls on the night of the alleged assault.
