Sam Burgess' NRL star brother George has been spared a criminal conviction after pleading guilty to destroying a truck driver's phone during a road rage dispute.
The St George Illawarra recruit was charged in August following an altercation with a 32-year-old man on Denison Street in Wollongong south of Sydney.
The 29-year-old appeared in the Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday where he was given a 12-month good behaviour bond after his guilty plea was accepted.
Burgess was driving to buy pain relief for a hip injury when a cement truck driver got out of his vehicle and started filming him, the court heard.

The truck driver claimed he saw Burgess using his mobile phone while driving, ABC News reported.
Burgess' lawyer Bryan Wrench said his client was unfamiliar with Wollongong's road and was using his phone to find directions to a pharmacy.
'This offending occurred in unusual circumstances where Mr Burgess was driving at a slow pace to the pharmacy to buy pain relief medication for a terrible surgery,' Mr Wrench said.
