Justice Dept. adds two top DC prosecutors - one an expert on child sex crimes and another on public corruption - to high-stakes sex-trafficking probe of Trump ally Matt Gaetz This summer the DOJ added two DC-based prosecutors to the child sex trafficking probe against Republican congressman Matt Gaetz    One of the prosecutors is a public corruption investigator with an expertise in child exploitation crimes  The other is Todd Gee, a deputy chief of the DOJ's Public Integrity Section, which works major criminal investigations into alleged misconduct by elected officials The two prosecutors have been helping investigations for at least three months  Adding prosecutors from the DOJ to a local team is not unusual, particularly in complicated high-profile cases that require expertise like sex crimes Gaetz, a close ally of former President Donald Trump, has denied any allegations of wrongdoing When asked about the addition of DOJ prosecutors to the probe into the congressman, Gaetz's spokesman said he is 'innocent.'

The Department of Justice have added two top DC-based prosecutors to help bolster the federal government's child sex-trafficking investigation of Republican congressman Matt Gaetz

The two prosecutors joined federal authorities over the summer in Florida in their  investigation of sex trafficking, fraud and corruption against Florida politicians, including Gaetz, the New York Times reported.

Gaetz, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, has been implicated by his convicted former partying pal Joel Greenberg of paying to have sex with a 17-year-old girl.

One of the prosecutors to join the probe is a public corruption investigator with an expertise in child exploitation crimes and the other has been identified by the Times as Todd Gee, a deputy chief of the DOJ's Public Integrity
