Meghan McCain turned the tables on Donald Trump on Friday, thanking him for his furious attack calling her a 'lowlife' after she had called his daughter and husband 'funeral crashers' in her new audio memoir.
'I’d like to thank former President Trump for encouraging everyone to buy my Audible book Bad Republican where they can hear my story in my words,' she said.
The exchanges are the latest instalment in a bitter family feud that saw Trump repeatedly ridicule McCain's father, John McCain, the six-term Republican senator and two-time presidential candidate who died in 2018.
In her memoir, the DailyMail.com columnist describes her horror at seeing Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared turn up at her father's funeral.
'I remember seeing them and seeing her specifically,' she told Andy Cohen on 'Watch What Happens Live' this week.
'They had no God-damn business being there and it’s something that still angers me, clearly.'
But she also said she had been bullied out of her job on the ABC daytime show 'The View.'

Her words triggered a blistering statement from Trump, who claimed credit for the big service.
'Isn’t it funny that Meghan McCain, who has always been a bully and basically a lowlife, is now complaining that it was she who was bullied by the Slobs and Radical Left maniacs of “The View.”
'At the request of many of her representatives, I made it possible for her father to have the world’s longest funeral, designed and orchestrated by him, even though I was never, to put it mildly, a fan.
'In his own very special way, he was a RINO’s RINO,' he said, using a disparaging term that Trump and his supporters use for 'Republicans in Name Only.
'Despite his fighting against me, I won Arizona by a lot in 2016 and won Arizona by even more in 2020 - unfortunately the vote counters in 2020 were far more important than the candidate (See the determinative Report issued Wednesday by the Arizona Auditors!).'
He also reheated his old McCain attack lines, saying he came close to bottom of his class at the U.S. Navy Academy in Annapolis and that he passed on a now notorious dossier of allegations against Trump - compiled by a former British spy - to the FBI.
'In any event, Meghan should fight the communists instead of explaining how they beat her, hurt her, and made her “physically ill,"' continued Trump.
'She should fight back against the Losers of The View the way she fights against very good and well-meaning Republicans, and she would do herself a world of good!'
McCain left 'The View' in August.
She kept a low profile until being named a new columnist for DailyMail.com.
And this week she returned to TV studios to publicize her new memoir, 'Bad Republican.'

She was asked by Cohen about her family’s long-running feud with Trump.
