Footage of the incident was posted to TikTok by user @harvey0075 this week, showing the man in a wide-brimmed hat being walked towards the exit of one of the hardware giant's stores by two Bunnings staff members. 'You can stick your vaccine mandate up your a**e, you can stick your vaccine mandate up your a**e,' sings the man, to the tune of children's nursery rhyme 'She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain'. Bunnings confirmed the incident took place at one of its stores in Western Australia. 'We’re aware of a person who entered our Melville store with a megaphone on the weekend,' Bunnings Area Manager Erik Kuzmar said. 'Our team calmly and politely walked the gentleman out of the store.' In Victoria, authorised workers including retail staff at Bunnings, must be fully vaccinated by November 26 to be able to continue working. Mandatory vaccines will also apply to workers in some local government areas of Sydney. Earlier this month, Bunnings managing director Mike Schneider revealed some Victorian workers had quit over the vaccination directive. 'We've already had a very small number of team members here in Melbourne who've indicated that they're going to leave Bunnings,' he told The Age. 'And we've heard the same from some of our trade customers with subcontractors and such that aren't prepared to get vaccinated.' Comment on the TikTok post divided into those in support of the man's stance and those who found him laughable. 'These muppets are becoming nothing more than a good laugh,' commented one person on the video. 'It's getting pretty sad now, anti-vaxxers,' posted another. Others praised the man as an Aussie 'hero'. 'Absolute legend, buy this man a slab of beer,' wrote one. 'I vote this guy for next prime minister,' another posted. Some people just saw the man's protest as humorous. 'I'm surprised the staff could even find him, they can never tell ya the right aisle for anything else,' one person commented.
