Australia Post has warned individuals and families to post Christmas presents as early as possible as it announced the exact dates parcels must be sent by to reach loved ones by December 25.
The postal service is expecting one of its busiest seasons ever as Australia emerges from Covid lockdown restrictions.
'We have added lots of capacity and we are adding more team members as we speak to be ready for the Christmas period, but it has been a challenging time and we are working very hard to get every parcel to its destination as quickly as we can,' Australia Post executive general manager Gary Starr told the ABC.
Australians sent more than 52 million parcels last year and are expected to exceed that figure as 2021 draws to a close.
