Western Australia's police chief broke down and cried after learning his officers had found Cleo Smith alive and well 18 days after she vanished from a remote campsite.
Detectives discovered the four-year-old in a locked house in Carnarvon, 73km from where she went missing, about 1am on Wednesday.
A 36-year-old man from the suburb is now in custody and being questioned by detectives.
