The Ford Ranger was Australia's bestselling car for two straight months for the first time ever even though an all-new model is being unveiled in less than three weeks.

Despite being a decade-old shape, the ute outsold the Toyota HiLux in the monthly sales race for only the seventh time since 2017. 

Ford managed to sell 4,135 Rangers in October 2021 to be Australia's top-selling vehicle despite a 1.9 per cent sales drop compared with a year earlier, new Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries data showed. 

The first all-new Ranger since 2011 is being unveiled online on November 24 and will form the basis of the next Volkswagen Amarok.
