A new street drug called Paint is circulating around a small California school, where students are purchasing a highly addictive psychedelic drug for $5 a pill, officials are warning. 

School administrators at Mesa Verde High School in Citrus Heights - roughly 30 minutes away from Sacramento - sent parents a letter warning them that a drug called Paint has been circulating around the school. 

'Mesa Verde High School was notified early this week that there is a concern about a drug called "Paint" being sold at school,' the letter read. 

The drug is a pill with 'psychedelic effects' and is 'known to be highly addictive,' the school said in the letter, obtained by CBS 13 Sacramento

Psychedelic drugs, like LSD, are usually not addictive. It
