A 'hard-working' father-of-two is fighting for life after being coward-punched while trying to help a woman who was allegedly being assaulted.
Kairan Mahia, 29, was hit from behind when several fights broke out between a large crowd at Sorrento Quay, at Hillary's Boat Harbour, in Perth, about 4.30am on Sunday.
Mr Mahia suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where doctors immediately placed him into an induced coma to stem bleeding on his brain.
Western Australian Police made a desperate appeal for witnesses and asked the public to upload any mobile phone or dash cam footage of the incident directly to their website.
