LAPD cops have warned multiple gangs are behind terrifying home invasion robberies which see rich victims including BET host Terrence Jenkins and RHOBH star Dorit Kemsley followed to their properties before being targeted.

LAPD Capt. Jonathan Tippet, who runs the Robbery Homicide Division, said officers believe multiple robbery crews are behind the series of crimes targeting affluent areas.

The community alert warned of the 'ongoing crime trend' where suspects have been followed from places like Melrose Avenue, the Jewelry District, nightclubs, and high-end restaurants and chosen based on their vehicle. The robbers have been targeting expensive jewelry and purses, and are armed.

Jenkins was allegedly the most recent victim of an attempted follow-home robbery where his car was shot at as he arrived back at his Sherman Oaks home in the early hours of Wednesday. The gang tried to block him with their SUV, but Jenkins managed to escape unharmed.

Two weeks earlier, Kemsley was held at gunpoint inside her Beverly Hills home and robbed of her while her jewelry and handbags while her children slept.

Violent crime is up across the nation but wealthy neighborhoods in LA are outpacing other parts of the country.

In September, LAPD data showed the Wilshire and nearby Hollywood divisions have seen a nearly 75% jump in robberies with guns in the last year.

Jenkins was met with gunfire when returning to his Sherman Oaks at 3am on Wednesday when an SUV with masked men blocked him in, according to FOX LA, citing the police.

Police say one of the alleged perpetrators ordered Jenkins, 39, out of the vehicle at gunpoint, however he ended up being able to flee in his car. The Think Like A Man actor was then followed by the suspects, and at least one of the alleged perpetrators fired shots at his car.

The former BET host flagged down a California Highway Patrol Car, who alerted the LAPD to the situation, according to TMZ

There have been no injuries reported. The suspects have been described as four black men whom were all wearing black and driving a silver Jeep Cherokee.

Jenkins' attempted robbery came two weeks after Kemsley's traumatic night on October 27.
