A teenager has confirmed she was the woman who was seen being bundled into a car in footage of a suspected kidnapping, but has insisted that she was not being abducted.

Detectives in Birmingham released dashcam footage showing the moment a dark coloured Ford Mondeo abruptly stopped in Golden Hillock Road at 5.45pm on November 7.

The video showed a man bundling the woman back into the car after she appeared to try and exit the vehicle. Officers feared the woman was forced into the car against her will and were concerned that she might have come to harm.

But West Midlands Police confirmed that a 17-year-old girl has come forward and said she was the woman being lifted into the back of the car in the footage.
