Dr. Konstantinos Zarkandas took out $3.7million in loans last year between March and July

A Long Island doctor has pleaded guilty to fraudulently claiming $3.7million in COVID PPP loans then using the money to buy a luxury yacht and expensive designer watches. 

Dr. Konstantinos Zarkandas, known as Dino to friends and family, admitted using the money that was intended to relieve small business during COVID closures, to fund his extravagant lifestyle.

The 48-year-old father-of-three is now awaiting sentencing and faces 30 years in prison, as well as forfeiture of $3,796,849.50 and a fine of up to $250,000. 

The Department of Justice announced the charges in a press release on Friday.
