The chairman of the American Conservative Union has called for federal funding to be pulled from Sesame Street after the introduction of the show's latest character.
Sesame Street unveiled its brand new character Ji-Young, the show's first-ever Asian American character, earlier this week.
However, Matt Schlapp has called for the federal government to pull its funding from the channel PBS, which is home to the children's show.
Taking to Twitter earlier this week, Schlapp wrote: 'What race is Ernie is Bert? You are insane PBS and we should stop funding you.'
