The smiling faces of four children claimed by a deadly house fire have been captured in what are most likely their last taken alive.

Images show the happy children playing together for what would be their final visit to the local daycare centre.

One photo shows a child smiling from ear-to-ear on a trike while his sibling plays with a toy phone and nurses a toy baby.

A shrine of toys, flowers, children's books and candles has formed outside the property in Werribee, in Melbourne's south-west, where Musrah Osman, 10, three-year-old brother Nadar and sisters Isan, six and Ileen, one, perished early Sunday morning.

The now haunting images were taken by their beloved daycare provider Marerie Pisua, who had looked after all of the children at Kids in Action in Derrimut each and every day after they finished school.

Ms Pisua sunk to her knees in grief outside the burned out home as she recalled her last happy memories of them.

She sobbed loudly as she clutched the fence, which cordons off the home, while being comforted by her friend Yvette.

Ms Pisua had taken photos of the kids playing on Friday, just a day before they would perish in the deadly house fire.

One photo shows a cheeky shot of Musrah wielding two water pistols while others show his sisters playing together with various toys.

Eldest sister Islan is pictured busily working away on a computer oblivious that her short life would soon be at an end.

The children had been regulars at the daycare centre, with staff devastated at their tragic demise.

'I liked them, they liked me. They're in the park, they played with their toys,' Ms Pisua said.

Ms Pisua had taken the series of happy snaps of the kids on Friday after they finished school.

'They were very happy,' she said.

Ms Pisua said she was struggling to believe they were gone.

Speaking through an interpreter, Ms Pisua said she had returned to the home in hope the children's souls had gone now to a good place.

The children's parents Najm Osman, 45, his 38-year-old wife Khadjah, and surviving eight-year-old brother Ibrahim managed to escape the blaze with non-life threatening injuries.

The mother of Musrah's best friend from school broke down in tears as she lay flowers outside the gutted home on Monday.

The children had attended school together and were never far apart.

The woman, who did not provide her name, told reporters she felt compelled to attend the home where the children perished.

'Because I'm a mother. I'm a mother and a mother loves their child,' she said.

A steady stream of friends and strangers have attended the home on Monday.

A temporary fence along the footpath is lined with flowers and toys left by well wishers.

One woman left a Thomas The Tank Engine train set alongside other toys.

She stood before the home gripped with anguish before slowly returning to her car.

Another man attended with a small child, but was too upset to speak.

Photos of each of the four victims have been released along with a happy snap of Mr Osman pictured posing with his five children, including his surviving son.

Shattered family friends have revealed how quickly the fire engulfed the home before emergency services arrived on an online fundraiser which has already more than $100,000.

Neighbours woke to Najm screaming 'save my children' and his frantic pleas for help as firefighters battled to control the blaze which destroyed the home.

'He banged on our door … (and said) to my husband, 'my kids are dead, my kids are dead,' ' next door neighbour Geeta Deagan told the Herald Sun

Neighbours said the children's mother Khadjah was just as distraught.

'[She] came to me and said, 'they are not going to come back … my four kids died, I'm not a good mum, I'm not a good mum,'' Ms Deagan said.

'I just gave her a hug… there was nothing she could do.'

Another neighbour told how Mr Osman did everything he could to save his kids.

'The father was trying to smash the door, smash the windows, everything,' he told The Age.

'He was bleeding all up his arms from trying to get in and was begging me for a jacket so he could get to his kids. He tried every single thing.

'They were a good family, no trouble. Every morning the woman would say hello to my mums.

Touching cards are scattered along a make-shift fence outside the gutted property.

'RIP beautiful souls. You'll never be forgotten. Fly high,' a heartbreaking note on one of the cards read.

Photos of the home show the interiors barely recognisable, with some of the charred furniture in the front rooms still standing.

School friends of Musrah, 10,  and Isan, 6, also visited the home on Monday morning to pay their respects.
