Annastacia Palaszczuk has claimed her state is being singled out by the Morrison government amid a spat over $145-a-pop Covid tests to enter Queensland

After giving a speech at a conference of the Queensland Resources Council on Wednesday, Ms Palaszczuk told reporters it was not her government's responsibility to clear up the misunderstanding over who would pay for PCR tests to enter the state.

'This a backflip by the Federal government, this is about singling out Queensland, this is about the Federal election,' she said.

'Why did the Federal government want Queenslanders to get Covid for Christmas. They wanted to scrap the PCR test.

'I'm glad they saw the light and I'm glad everything has been resolved.'

Interstate visitors from declared hotspots will be required to complete a PCR test within 72 hours of entering the state, once Queensland reaches 80 per cent of its population with two doses of a Covid vaccine.

This threshold is expected to be passed on December 17 but at current rates of vaccination, could occur a week or more earlier.

The cost of the test was to be met at the traveller's own expense, presenting a family of five with a possible bill over $700 in order to visit Queensland.

Last night Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt confirmed the cost of the test would be paid for 50:50 by Medicare with Ms Palaszczuk's government.

Ms Palaszczuk fumed today: 'Obviously the Federal government have a few diversions at the moment.

'There's a mess in Canberra, they can't control their numbers, if you can't control your own numbers how can you actually run the nation?

'There's a Federal election and of course, Queensland gets singled out, Western Australia gets singled out, Victoria gets singled out.

'I'm frankly sick of it.

'My job is to make sure Queenslanders get vaccinated and that's exactly what I'm doing.'

Ms Palaszczuk again said Queensland was being singled out over its insistence on PCR tests for interstate visitors from Covid-19 hotspots when other states also required the test.

Ms Palaszczuk was earlier accused of backflipping on the date when vaccine passports will come into effect in the state, allowing the unvaccinated three more weeks to attend venues

Earlier today, the date at which vaccine mandates come into effect in Queensland was confirmed as December 17.

Unvaccinated people will be barred from entering businesses and venues once the state reached 80 per cent of its eligible population with two doses of a Covid vaccine.

Originally forecast as December 17, the date the threshold is expected to be reached is now around December 6.

The earlier date meant it was feared the unvaccinated would be stripped of their freedoms sooner than expected.

But on Tuesday night, Queensland tourism minister Stirling Hinchcliffe confirmed on unjabbed Queenslanders won't be
