WWE wrestler Seth Rollins has called for the out-of-control fan who tackled him to the floor during a recording of 'Raw' to be banned as he opened up about the 'terrifying' attack for the first time since the events unfolded on Monday.

The 35-year-old star said he was shaken up by the incident that saw a fan jump over a guardrail at Monday Night Raw and tackle Rollins to the ground.

Giving TMZ a play-by-play breakdown of the assault as he walked through LAX airport on Wednesday, Rollins said: 'It's terrifying, brother.

'It happened very quickly. I was mostly just reacting and hoping that our security would come and do their job. Which they did very quickly, he added. 'And then was just trying to detach and move on. Hope that everybody is okay.'

Following the attack, there was confusion over whether it was part of the 'Raw' show, something Rollins - whose real name is Colby Lopez - has denied.

'Once the tackle happened I knew what was going on,' he said. 'The guy was barreling around the corner.'

He reassured the TMZ interviewer that no one was hurt in the incident. 'No, no serious injuries. Nothing like that. I was safe, we were safe. Everything was okay.'

Elisah Spencer, 24, has since been charged over the incident, and even posted a bizarre video on social media on Tuesday in which he identified himself as the fan.

Rollins did not say whether he wanted Spencer to be punished criminally, but said that he did think he should be handed a ban to future Raw events.

'I think as a precedence he probably should not be allowed at the events.'

Rollins is one of WWE’s biggest stars and a former WWE champion.

While WWE is known for its theatrics, the incident doesn't appear to have been a stunt, since Spencer was arrested at the scene.

He has since been charged with attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs for disrupting a live sporting event.

It all happened in full view of television cameras which were broadcasting live but then rapidly pulled away from the scene.

Meanwhile, shocked fans filmed the incident and jeered before posting the violent footage online.

WWE officials including security and referees quickly intervened to pull Spencer off Rollins before the attacker was escorted out of the arena by around six security guards.

Rollins yelled at Spencer as he was being taken away and attempted to stay in character, but
