A family have received an unwanted early Christmas present after discovering one of the world's deadliest snakes wrapped around their tree.
The family, from Gulfview Heights in Adelaide's northern suburbs, were putting up Christmas decorations on Wednesday when they discovered an unusual looking ornament.
Amongst the baubles and tinsel was a massive brown snake that had slithered its way out of the Christmas tree storage box where it had been hiding.
