An AFL legend has been rushed into intensive care after falling ill from a suspected reaction to a Covid booster shot.

Former Western Bulldogs star Paul Dimattina, 47, has been in hospital for several days after suffering what is believed to be a rare adverse reaction to his Pfizer booster.

Dimattina - who is receiving chemotherapy and suffers from the autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis - has since also contracted the virus itself.
