A man and a woman have been killed after their car was hit by a train on a railroad crossing in Kansas on Thanksgiving .
Police officers were called out to a rural area 75 miles outside of Topeka in Miami County, Kansas, after the incident which occurred at around 6pm yesterday.
The Sedan and the section of the train involved in the crash reportedly caught fire following collision, which KSHB reports also shunted the vehicle a quarter of a mile
