A murder investigation has been launched after at least three men were allegedly killed in South Australia.
Detective Superintendent Des Bray announced on Wednesday he will lead the investigation looking into the deaths of Robert Atkins, Trevor King and Jeff Mundy.
All men were allegedly murdered by low-level drug dealers and petty criminals.
It is believed they were intentionally given a lethal dose of a drug, otherwise known as a 'hot shot', Detective Superintendent Bray said.
He said there were likely multiple people involved with the murders.
There may also be other deaths linked to the killings.
Adelaide man Robert Atkins, who disappeared in January, was held captive and tortured for up to a week before
