A senior at Oxford High School in Michigan has described in chilling detail how he and his terrified classmates piled up desks against their classroom door, and armed themselves with whatever they could get their hands on - including scissors and calculators - during Tuesday's shooting that killed three.

Eight other people were wounded, some critically, including a 14-year-old girl who was placed on a ventilator after surgery, after investigators say a 15-year-old sophomore carried out an 'absolutely cold-blooded, murderous' rampage using a handgun his father had just purchased on Black Friday

Aiden Page, a senior at Oxford High School, said he was in class around lunchtime when he heard two gunshots.

Page told CNN's Anderson Cooper on Tuesday night that he watched his teacher follow an active shooter protocol by immediately locking the classroom door, in case the gunfire was not a part of a drill.

'We grabbed calculators, we grabbed scissors just in case the shooter got in and we had to attack them,' he said.

Page revealed that at one point, a bullet pierced through onw of the desks used to barricade the door.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard has confirmed Page's observation, saying that the 15-year-old school shooter 'tried to breach classroom doors.'

'He actually fired through a number of the doors that I looked at last night, through the barricaded doors,' the sheriff revealed on Wednesday. 'Some of those barricades were struck by gunfire.'

The shooting took place at around lunchtime in Oxford Township, Michigan, leading to the teenage suspect's arrest within 5 minutes of the first 911 call coming in
