A Texas high school was put into lockdown yesterday amid reports of three students with a handgun inside a bathroom.
Police rushed to Akins Early College High School in Austin to secure the main school building and quickly located the students they had been called about.
The district's police chief, Ashley Gonzalez, confirmed that two ammunition magazines on one of the students in question.
Austin Independent School District (ISD) reported that no shots were fired, and officers never found a gun.
They added that students and staff remained safe inside the building while officers dealt with the students. Parents were sent text messages urging them to keep away.

'We talk about "see something, say something",' Gonzalez told a press briefing. 'Something was seen that triggered this response, and we were able to act quickly.'
