CNN host Jake Tapper slammed Hollywood, Silicon Valley and the NBA for being 'blinded' by Chinese cash while ignoring the Communist regime's human rights abuses.
Tapper criticized the American industries for their indifference amid ongoing fears over the safety of Chinese tennis champion Peng Shuai, who has been silenced after accusing former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of sexual assault.
He also slammed the IOC for moving forward with holding the Winter Games next year in Beijing.
'The millionaires and billionaires of Hollywood and the NBA and the IOC and Wall Street are all so eager for Chinese cash, they’re pretending none of this is happening,' Tapper said on his show State of the Union on Sunday.
'There is no amount of money that can buy enough soap to wash that blood off their hands.'

WTA champion Peng Shuai accused former accused former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of sexual assault which saw the organization suspend all events in the country
Peng alleged that Gaoli had sexually assaulted her in a bedroom at his home while his wife was there
Tapper also noticed that these industries were failing to recognize issues such as the detainment of over one million Uighurs, as well as other minority groups, at the Xinjiang internment camps in western China
Little has been heard from Shuai since she made the blockbuster sexual assault allegations, which prompted the World Tennis Association to cancel events in China over concerns for her safety.
Shuai had created her own post concerning the assault on the Chinese social media site Weibo before it was taken down.

'Even if it is like an egg hitting a rock, or if I am like a moth drawn to the flame, inviting self destruction, I will tell the truth about you,' Shuai wrote.
The IOC hosted a call with Shuai in which she appeared to be smiling while in the presence of China authorities, but failed to address the sexual assault allegations.
'Yes, the Olympics are supposed to be free and without politics,' Tapper said.
'But this is not about politics. The allegations against the Chinese government go far beyond its treatment of Shuai.'
